All Canadians are privileged to hear Jason Kenney, leader of the United Conservative Party of Alberta and very possibly the next Premier of Alberta, speaking about Bill C-48, the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act, and the First Nations-led Eagle Spirit pipeline corridor.

To my knowledge, Mr. Kenney is the first Canadian elected politician with the vision and courage to understand and publically speak about the need for, and in support of, the Eagle Spirit pipeline corridor from the oil sands to a marine terminal near Prince Rupert, the safest location for an oil port on Canada’s west coast.

Support and action by all Canadians on behalf of the Eagle Spirit proposal would spell the death knell for the wholly unsatisfactory, totally inadequate, widely-opposed and challenged, and completely irresponsible Trans Mountain expansion proposal.

Eagle Spirit is the means to achieve a vibrant, sustainable future for Alberta’s oil sands and the development of northwest Canada’s immense resources of shale oil and gas through the development and use of Peace Region low-carbon hydropower.
